Who is Judicator?
Judicator is a Salt Lake City–based power metal band formed in 2012 after singer John Yelland and guitarist Alicia Cordisco met at a Blind Guardian show, united by a fixation on history, mortality, and meaning. Across six albums, the band has built a reputation for concept records that move seamlessly from historical figures like Napoleon Bonaparte and Frederick the Great to brutally personal subjects, including Yelland’s account of losing his brother to cancer on At the Expense of Humanity. Their latest album, Concord, follows high-water marks like a guest appearance from Hansi Kürsch on The Last Emperor and opening for Blind Guardian in SLC on their 2024 North American tour.
Judicator delivers epic, emotionally grounded power metal that treats history not as spectacle, but as a mirror for humanity’s triumphs, failures, and myriad destinies.
