Who is Beholder?
Behölder is an Epic Doom/Dark Power Metal band from the US inspired by classic Dungeons & Dragons. Formed in late 2021 by guitarist Carlos Alvarez, the band also features singer John Yelland, guitarist Matt Hodsdon, drummer Andrew Julkowski and bassist Michael “Oneirous” Sanchez. Their songs weave cautionary tales from the more grim, foreboding realms of fantasy against a backdrop of colossal riffs with elegant yet powerful melodies.
Their debut album In the Temple of the Tyrant (2025, Black Lion Records) channels the weight of Candlemass and Crypt Sermon with flashes of power metal-style heroism and grit. Behölder delivers fantasy metal with real gravity.
